The year started off on a different type of response for 2013 as we were activated to assist Fallowfield Twp. V.F.C. and the Washington County CART Team with a horse that needed assistance getting up. Command requested our low pressure lifting cushions.
Shortly after 7 the Somerset Fire District(Ellsworth VFC, Fallowfield VFC, Valley Inn VFD) were alerted for a house on fire off of Rutan Road. Ellsworth was first to arrive to confirm the dispatch and report that the building was well involved and partially collapsed.
In the early morning hours of November the 4th we were requested along with Ellsworth VFC to Somerset Township to assist with a horse that was trapped in a ditch. Also called to assist was the Washington County CART Team with assistance from the North Strabane FD and Fallowfield Township VFC.

Around 0315hrs Station 46 along with New Eagle, Monongahela, and Carroll Township Fire Departments were activated for a residential structure fire in the Borough of New Eagle. Monongahela Police arrived first confirming working fire.

Shortly before 1400hrs Station 46 activated to assist in the Borough of Donora which had 3 structures on fire. Engine 46 arrived in the Borough and was assigned to stretch an additional 5 inch supply line to Truck 63(Carroll Twp.) and pump the hydrant.
Shortly after midnight the Somerset Fire District was alerted for a structure fire at 62 Digger Lane in the Township. Chief 47(Fleming) was first to arrive, confirm working fire, and establish Digger Lane Command.
Shortly after 1am Station 46 was alerted to assist the Union Township Fire District, Finleyville and Elrama, with a tanker for a reported structure fire on Houston Run Road. Chief 24 arrived, established command, and advised of smoke showing.
Mother Nature's windy condition kept the volunteers busy handling various incidents throughout our response areas. The chaos began around 1945hrs Wednesday and continued throughout the night finishing up about 0800 Thursday morning.
